you speak to us about your new album called " Psalm II " ?
What shall I say to the album? It was a
difficult birth. The doctor was drunk, the nurses insane and all of our
brothers denied to be the father, for they didn’t want to be accused to
have had sex.
The music we found on it is influenced by all kind of styles mixed with
medieval-like music. But this time there’s more rock in it.
What are your biggest musical
influences ?
Mainly Gregorian chorals and gospels.
Who is responsible for song writing, and how did you proceed for the
composition ?
Of course the Lord is responsible for that. Bruder Nachtfraß gets
himself in some kind of ecstasy and meditates. I don’t want to describe
it any nearer- it is too ugly. But the somehow HE speaks to Bruder
Nachtfraß and gives him ideas for a song. After such a session our
brother is ill for a week, but we have a new song.
What are the lyrics talking about, and where do you find inspiration
?
It is roughly the same like with the music. The Lord gives them to us.
Okay, sometimes we think that he cheats and takes the lyrics from for
example from the Carmina Burana or Schiller. But we are always impressed
on HIS choice.
What's your favourite " Psalm II " track , and why ?
I wouldn’t dare to tell this now. Do you know what would happen? If I
make the wrong choice, the heavenly father is angry with me. And either
I will be hit by some lightning or HE makes me beat myself. As the Lord
didn’t tell me which is his favourite song, I won’t say anything.
Do any of you currently work on projects other than Potentia Animi ?
Yes, we build our own monastery, so we can settle. We plan to found a
mixed brother-/sisterhood.
What are your favourite all-time
bands and albums ?
There can be only one: JP II. formally
known as the pope John Paul II.. He sang some groovy, all-time favourite
tunes.
Do you have any funny or strange stories about the band you can share
with us ?
I’m afraid not. We are a serious brotherhood, always praying, fastening
and beating ourselves. Sometimes we drop the soap under the shower,
which is bad when Bruder Liebe is around.
Which are the projects of the group
to short and long-term?
To spread HIS words is our long-time project. And to find some nuns for
our monastery.
Do you think beeing on tour soon
?
We actually start a small tour now and
will be possibly on a bigger one in autumn.
And finally, can you say some
words for my radio show Metal Choc ?
That is difficult as I’m writing, but I’ll try.
