Can you tell us
more about your new album called « Amanethes» ? -It’s a contrasted, dark and gloomy album about the bad things in this world in general, and the hypocrisy of the church in particular. But it also shows some hope here and there, therefore the contrasts, which is also heavily reflected in the music.
-To and from, ever since 2003, but with quite a few breaks, travels, drinks in between the sessions.
-Locked myself up in a black room with a fridge full of beer, an acoustic guitar, paper and pencil, a kaleidoscope and poppers.
-God is present in every song on the album. They are fourteen shades of – and reasons to - why the organized Christian churches have to be fought with all means. I’m only doing my share.
-I don’t know... I don’t really listen to our albums, I have most fun creating them. It feels a bit perverted to listen to, and analyze, your own songs.
-Amanethes has more variety than ever before and it stretches the contrasts of our sound to the extremes.
-We haven’t decided that yet, though some songs, like Raining Dead Angels and Equinox Of The Gods for example, are begging to be played live.
-Not yet, don’t know what the plans are on that.
-I suppose that whatever I had in mind while writing these songs, is simply just my own, personal interpretation of them. I don’t wanna reveal too much about them, as it might totally spoil the listener’s interpretation, and every interpretation is as good as any.
-Try to play a lot of festivals this summer, then go on a European tour in the autumn/beginning of winter.
-My first LSD trip changed the sound of the band quite a lot. After that bungyjumping while tripping, nothing stayed the same in the band. That was while recording Clouds, back in 1992.
-Hope to see you all in France later this year! Sorry for not having played in France in such a long time!
